Wanting to get hired?
You don't have to do it alone. In fact, you can't do it alone.
If you're looking for employment, you want all the help you can get. Many people immediately think of a
recruiter. I am definitely NOT one of those. But most people don't get hired through a recruiter.
They get hired through their network. And a good résumé. And being
dazzling in the interview.
If you aren't sure of your skills in these areas, maybe you need a hiring coach. Contact me and let's see if I can help.
Maybe you are considering chucking the job market altogether and being your own
boss. If so, there are things you should know and ways that I can help you, too.
Or maybe you don't feel ready for that. Maybe you want to explore other things that will help you get
hired. You are welcome to look around because we have some resources that may help.
The Magic Bullet... Knowledge
I know that most of us are looking for that "magic bullet" that will minimize the pain of looking for a job and
get us instantly hired... in the perfect job. I wish I could say that I had one. Or that I had a magic
wand... or a genie. But that wouldn't be truthful and it wouldn't serve either one of us.
But there is something I have that is almost as good... knowledge. And I am willing to
share that knowledge here. Why? I have several reasons for doing it.
- I'm just like you. I want people to acknowledge my worth. And one of the ways to do
that is by being useful. So, if I share my knowledge with you, I'm betting that you will appreciate it
(at least a little bit.)
- I have been in your situation (or one very much like it) and I know the pain. I really
needed someone to share some of this helpful knowledge with me.
- I want to give back by paying it forward. Along the way, some people did help
me. Some of them are not around for me to pay it back to them, so I am repaying them by helping
others along the way.
- I believe that you may become my friend. I truly believe that as people find my site
and are helped by the information I provide, they will come to trust me and will become my
friends. You see, friends help each other. I would always rather do business with friends
because then I know that we will both benefit from it. I will start the friendship by being a friend...
providing information to help you along your way.
So how can I help you get a job?
Well, remember, to get hired you need to ace that
interview. But, before you can ace the interview, you need to have one. For most
people, that means a résumé that will get you noticed and invited to an interview. (Even if
you used your network properly, almost everyone wants to see a resume either before the interview or in it.)
If you are going into an interview, you want to have the right resources so that you can walk out with
a job offer.
Here are a few things that may help you write that résumé, ace that interview, and
get hired.
